Margarette A. Mills had this fun fact about the Hash Brown Casserole recipe to share:
Tasty and easy to make!.
Ingredients
8 Ore-Ida hash brown patties
1 stick margarine, melted
16 oz. sour cream
2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
Dash of pepper
1 onion, chopped
1 can cream of chicken soup
Corn flakes (crushed)
½ stick margarine, melted
Cooking Instructions
Tips: 1. The Ore-Ida hash browns are unseasoned. They come in a 9 pack in the freezer section. If necessary you can use frozen shredded hash browns, but it is harder to determine the quantity you need. 2. There is not a specific quantity of corn flakes—just however much topping you desire. 3. To crush the cornflakes, I put them in a Ziploc quart freezer bag. I crush them in the bag, add the melted margarine and mix well. This is the least messy way I have found to do this.
