Seminar InformationFarmers and Ranchers Estate Planning Seminar Tuesday, October 12, 2010 06:00 PM - 07:30 PM Carter County Cooperative Extension Services Office 300 West Main Street, Room 121 Grayson, KY 41143-1274
Seminar to be held at Senior Citizens Center next to Justice Center on Main Street
Traditional estate planning has focused primarily on what happens after death and has usually passed on financial wealth outright with no conditions or safeguards. Today’s families are realizing that these estate planning methods are failing them. They want a more holistic approach to deal with today’s real life issues. Those issues include planning for disability, remarriage of the surviving spouse, divorce (especially divorce of children), creditor and financial management problems of beneficiaries, and passing on family traditions and values. Additionally, farmers and ranchers often have unique estate planning issues regarding the continuing operation of their business and the division of their property. This seminar deals with issues pertinent to all families, with an added emphasis on the particular concerns of farmers and ranchers.
